Welcome to the Bridge Inn
Built about 1800, the buildings that are now "The Bridge Inn" were originally a busy family run farm. When the Kennet and Avon Canal was opened in 1810, the premises were extended to accommodate a flour mill and bakery using wheat transported by working barges along this new link between the rivers Thames in the east and Avon in the West. One wall of the outbuildings still shows evidence of where the bread ovens and chimney were situated.
It has a large Beer Garden with an enclosed children's play area, Decking overlooking the Kennet and Avon Canal and is within easy walking distance (about 1 hour) to the Historic Market town of Devizes. There are Great Walks and Cycle paths surrounding the Pub and there are also 5 visitor moorings to pull up alongside and experience ‘The Bridge Inn’.
The World Heritage site of Avebury and the Ancient stones are within close proximity as is Chippenham, Marlborough and Pewsey.
A range of Wadworth Cask ales are available with a guest beer also available.
Sharon, Matt and the team await you with a warm friendly atmosphere, roaring Log fires in the winter and a Canal side breeze in the summer.
